Voice guidance not working

Good afternoon,

I have a year old Motorola E and love Osmand which works pretty well on it.

However, the voice guidance does not work most of the time which is very
frustrating. I am using the "Media/music audio" output setting in android
and have the TTS English voice downloaded.

I also have the Here.com satnav on the same phone and voice guidance works
on that.

Has anybody any ideas please?

By the way, comparing the two systems, the Here routing is much much much
faster, but I prefer just about everything else about Osmand.

Are you using it in combination with bluetooth in your car? If so, try the
phone output. Mostly only the output from phone is directed via bluetooth
unless you have your phone registered as media device as well for your car
bluetooth set.

Hi Harry,

Thank you for your help.

Voice was not working in the car or when using it on foot. I've tried all
the output settings available with and without Bluetooth connection and
nothing works!

So, this afternoon, I uninstalled Osmand and reinstalled it and voice now
seems to be working fine. I've been out in the car this evening for a short
trip to test it and it seems OK. I have Bluetooth in my car and that seems
to affect the voice output when I switch BT on. However, I installed an app
called Soundabout and after fiddling with a few settings the phone speaker
is working, but no output via the car stereo system. Shame but not really a
great loss!

Hi Connor.
Osmand+ (and free version) have always succesfully delivered sound on my
MotoG without the addittion of any extra sound apps. Could it help you if
we compared notes?

And what about the non-TTS voice? Does it work? The TTS voice is in the end
not created by Osmand but by the TTS engine you have installed and
activated (check it in your Android settings).

I only use TTS voice UK British English.
(American "englsh" worked OK on earlier versions. I've not tried it on the
current version.)
