No GPX files found in the tracks folder

Hello All,

I have been trying to load gpx files generated from Google Maps, via
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input?convert_format=gpx. I loaded the
files [there were two] to the *osmand/tracks* folder in the internal memory
card of my phone. Also, since the tracks folder was not there, i had to
create it.

Now when I went into OsmAnd+ and tried to load the files using layers
option, it says *No GPX files found in the tracks folder. *

I have looked around, but did not get any similar issue on the web. And i
have tried both .gpx and .GPX, if that is of any use...

Please help.

Thanks and regards.

Is the rest of your data also in /osmand like the maps etc.?
If not your data is probably inside /Android/data/net.osmand or
/Android/data/net.osmand.plus, either on internal memory or on your SD-card.

I have the opposite issue: I recorded some tracks with Osmand which can be
shown on the map, but there are no gpx files in the /osmand/tracks folder.
On the other hand, when I generate gpx tracks on my computer and copy them
to /osmand/tracks, they will be displayed on the map. So I assume the
tracks folder is assigned correct.
Via the dashboard I can see and display tracks I recorded some days before,
but still there are no files in the /tracks folder.

I renamed a recorded track XXXYYYZZZ and then searched the whole memory of
my phone while connected to the PC, but no file was found.

Where to search?

I tried to share one of the tracks I recorded with Osmand. If doing so, a
gpx file will be submitted , but there is no such gpx file in the phone's
memory....

Maybe a dumb question but are you looking in the correct place?
For example, the top two files in the first attached screenshot, from my
Laptop's file manager, were recorded during walks earlier this month.
ie the recorded tracks are found in; Osmand, tracks, rec.
The second attached file is a screenshot direct from the screen of the
mobile. Look in; My places, My Tracks, rec.
Notice "rec" in both cases.
Any help?

There is no folder "rec" in \Osmand\tracks or in
Android\data\net.osmand\files.
I recorded some tracks, then saved them.
Sending the tracks via email works, and I also find these gpx files using
Android file commander.
With FC I can move a gpx file to another directory, but I cant see the file
from Windows Explorer when I connect the phone to my computer...

Do I need to set Win Explorer to something special?

Just went through the same struggle and eventually found the issue.
Basically OsmAnd stores it files into a private directory by default, but
you can go into settings and change that folder to be the "osmand" folder
in the root of your storage.

To clarify this once and for all, I also decided to create a blogpost to
describe how I did it: http://jeroenmols.com/blog/2016/07/21/cyclinggps/

I already answered a couple of these questions in this forum.
I will add either an article to the FAQ or to the general introduction as
by now it is really becoming an issue as more and more people get on
Android 6.
